American Songwriter:

Here is what American Songwriter had to say about our new single  "When You Lose Your Mind".

"The two trade harmonies over arpeggiated guitar and sporadic percussion on “When You Lose Your Mind,” the EP’s lead single. The EP is called Forecast. And things are looking bright."

You can stream the single right now on American Songwriter in their Best New Music column. There is a write up there as well.

There was a write up in Exclaim! yesterday as well. Here is a quote from Exclaim:

"Forecast features the soft and folksy "When You Lose Your Mind" on the A-side and the beat-driven "Actual Size" on the B-side."

You can stream the song on Exclaim as well.

Cold Reading Series

Ari and I played at The Cold Reading Series in Vancouver this week. It was a really nice to play a totally acoustic set to such a nice (incredibly quiet) audience. It seems actors and writers make some of the loveliest audiences. :)

The series takes place every Monday at The Backstage Lounge on Granville Island. Each week you will hear actors read great scripts and they always have a music guest too.

Ari and I are writing and recording new songs and will be unveiling some new music this fall.

Have a great summer!!

My Heavens Pre-orders

My new album My Heavens will be released in early 2013. I will decide on the official release date very soon. :)

If you are interested in pre-ordering the album just send me an email: and i will let you know how you can pre-order the new album now.

WDST Radio Woodstock/Ulster County SPCA

Tonight at 11pm EST I will be interviewed by Harvey Kivel on WDST Radio Woodstock. They are also going to play some of my new songs from My Heavens. Wherever you are you can tune in online and hear Harvey's hour long show on WDST. I will be the first interview and my songs (along with other songs) will be played throughout the hour I believe. He is interviewing several other people who are doing very interesting things so the whole show is worth checking out. :)

WDST Radio Woodstock

As many of you know a percantage of the money raised through my fan funding campaign will be donated to the ASPCA. I am a big fan of animal shelters and the people who run them.

The Ulster County SPCA is a no kill shelter in upstate New York. They took in a long of animals recently due to Hurricane Sandy and they could really use your help. They have wonderful pets to adopt or you could donate a little or even help by getting them supplies from their Amazon wish list.

How To Help

Holiday Show December 15th in New York

3 More Days to My Heavens/T-shirts/Shows

It is December in mere minutes. Can you believe it?

Earlier this week the physical copies of my new album My Heavens arrived on my doorstep. I am very excited!

"My Heavens" will be released to everyone who "pledges" through Pledge Music in three days. As we count down to the release I am posting a new song daily for people to stream.

When you pledge on anything from the $10 album to a $25 T-shirt, painting, lyric book or house concert you get access to a bunch of free downloads (including two free EP's) and some videos with live performances. Everyone who orders a physical CD also gets a copy of my Winter EP because it is that time of year. Five percent of everything that is pledged now goes to the ASPCA.

Two of the shirts that will only be available through the My Heavens Pledge Campaign are the Monsters shirt and The My Heavens shirt. I am posting a photo here of each. When you buy either one you get a copy of the album too since that is what this is all about. :)

Photo: There are three T-shirts available through Pledge for $25. None of them have ever been offered before. When you get a shirt you also get the download of the album of course. Here is a photo of the My Heavens shirt for girls.

I am so thankful to all of you for pledging and/or helping to spread the word. I keep my costs down as much as I can and I kept my goal low for my pledge campaign but I still really did not know if we would reach the goal. I recorded this album myself and will be putting it out on my own little label. I am my own manager, label. publisher, agent, etc. and I happily wear a lot of hats. Since I am totally indie and do not have any other person or company working on promoting my albums etc. every pre-order really helps me to keep my label going and helps to get my music out there.

The official release date will be in 2013 so if you would like to get My Heavens this year or get it for a friend Pledge Music is the way to go.

Greetings From New York/New Album Pre-Orders

Greetings From New York

I am writing from my new office which is located inside the frozen yogurt shop down the street from my dark cold house. Ari, Arlo and I are fine and I think we will get our power turned back on this week. :)

My Pledge Campaign for My Heavens continues for one more month and the new album will be released to Pledgers in 29 days. You can still pledge to pre-order the album for $10 and get access to all the exclusives (songs, videos, lyrics photos etc. posted on my Pledge page). You can also get signed CDs, 3 brand new T-shirts, house concerts, a song written just for you, lyric and photo books, perfume etc.

RIght now there are about 10 songs up on the Pledge Page to either stream or download. There will be more coming soon. I have also posted a painting that will be used in the artwork for My Heavens. The painting up on Pledge is called The Huntress and it is by the same artist who is responsible for the one at the top of this newsletter. Her name is Tricia Scott and she is really talented and incredibly nice too.

Have a great week and a great month!!!

Thanks for reading my newsletter.

Hurricane Song/Pledger Updates/New Album

Hi There

We went out this morning to get a flashlight, water, non-perishable foods and of course dog treats. We are home now waiting for this crazy frankenstorm to arrive. I hope you are safe wherever you are.
As I was walking around this morning with the wind blowing I remembered an old unrecorded song. I just rewrote one of the verses and renamed it Dear Hurricane. Ari and I played an acoustic version and made a little video for pledgers.
Today we are working on mixing new songs. My Heavens coming soon…
If you would like to hear the new song Dear Hurricane and have access to other exclusives (songs, videos, lyrics, artwork) you can pre-order the album for $10 on my Pledge Music Page. You will also find other fun things to pledge on such as three new T-shirts, paintings, house concerts and more. Even if you are not interested in taking part right now you can help me out greatly by passing the link on to any friends you think might be interested.

We have reached the goal for My Heavens which means I can cover costs for mixing and mastering and artwork. Any additional funds raised will help me press CD's, tour, and promote the album.

Pledge Campaign Reaches 100% in One Week! Yahoo!

My Pledge Campaign has reached it's goal and now comes the fun part. From now on 5% of all money pledged will be donated to the ASPCA. There are still lots of great exclusives such as original paintings, new T-shirts, and of course you can get the $10 pre-order too. Once you pledge you have access to all the exclusive pledger only updates. So you will get to hear the songs early and get old unreleased songs and artwork and lyrics and photos and...well you get the idea. The more I raise the more I can do with this new album (tour, promote the album etc.). THANKS so much for being awesome.

New Album and a Pledge Campaign :)

New Video Just In TIme For Halloween

Frankenstein is a 1910 film made by Edison Studios that was written and directed by J. Searle Dawley. It was the first motion picture adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The unbilled cast included Augustus Phillips as Dr. Frankenstein, Charles Ogle as the Monster, and Mary Fuller as the doctor's fiancée. Shot in three days, it was filmed at the Edison Studios in the Bronx, New York City. Although some sources credit Thomas Edison as the producer, he in fact played no direct part in the activities of the motion picture company that bore his name. Frankenstein is in the public domain, and you can download it here for free: Monsters is a song by Adrienne Pierce from her album "Oh Deer". You can find this song here: =381439921

New Show Added in Portland August 12th

Show This Friday at Room 5 in Los Angeles

New Review of Oh Deer

It was in 2005 that I heard the American group Shivaree for the first time. One of their most well-known singles, “New Casablanca,” became the song to which I listened the most that year. Well, actually, it was not really the song in itself that haunted me for months, but rather the voice of Ambrosia Parsley. A voice boasting a rare sensuality and smoothness.

We are now in 2011 and members of Shivaree disbanded four years ago. But the voice is still alive and well, and has been embodied in a Canadian singer and songwriter called Adrienne Pierce for a while.

Many artists spend too much time trying to convince audiences that they are talented. As far as Pierce is concerned, no need to worry; the talent is naturally there. In “Oh Deer,” her third album, she lets it speak through atmospheric tunes that match a beautifully endearing voice and innocent yet poetic lyrics.

The 12 songs on the CD were written over several years in Paris, Bologna, Death Valley, Kauai, Vancouver, and Los Angeles. However, listening to them is like taking an imaginary and intimate road trip across Canada. Whether it is the catchy “Guilty of Everything” (my personal favorite), the fanciful “Nightswimming” or the made-for-great-TV-show “Winner Takes It All,” her music spans genres and influences in the same fashion as the country boasts diversity of landscapes, people and cultures. And the more you listen to the album, the more you enjoy what it has to offer.

Pierce reminds me of a younger Kate Bush. While very different in styles, the two artists share a creative intelligence that sets them apart from most of their peers. They are not afraid of using their uniqueness to create music that entertains and makes a lasting impression on listeners.

“Oh Deer” is everything but mainstream. It is the kind of album that will brighten your Sunday mornings and warm your heart in winter. And that is exactly the reason why it is so good.

My Secret Scranton Show

Awhile back I launched "Operation Oh Deer" on my website. I sold various items and packages and also offered things like " a concert at your house". I really did not know if anyone would choose the concert option but was really happy when someone did. It was extra special because instead of a house I ended up playing someone's wedding. My performance was a gift from the bride to the groom and it was kept a secret right up until I stepped out of my hiding place and started singing. To make it extra special the wedding was in a beautiful place near Scranton which is the birthplace of my mother in law and also (obviously) the home of Dunder Mifflin. It was a beautiful wedding and it really was an honor to be part of it.

Oscar Lopez, George Canyon and The Osoyoos Celebrity Wine Festival

The wine festival in Osoyoos was great. My brother and I did a music and wine pairing at Black Hills Winery. For my last song belly dancers came up and joined me and everyone wanted them to keep dancing (of course) so I asked if one of the other musicians in attendance wanted to come up and play something that was danceable. Oscar Lopez said sure and he was amazing!! I have some photos of him playing my guitar with the beautiful dancers all around him. Then George Canyon came up and played a couple of excellent Johnny Cash covers (on my guitar). I am a big Johny Cash fan and a George Canyon fan too so this was pretty awesome. My guitar thinks it is pretty special now. I will post some photos soon.

I co-produced this album with some talented friends (Jeff Trott, Ari Shine, Marc Wild) and I have put it out on my own little label. It is very nice to see that it is slowly but surely getting out there.

Tunes for Tuesday - Cute, Queer, Canadian

Her sound is a pure bubble of brightness gliding across the serrated edge of her wit and poetic observation.
She is the icon of the literate pop scene and coaxes listeners into vivid reflections on our kaleidoscopic modern life.
In a clear, sweet voice, she traces out a series of weighted confessions, jealousies, apologies, and silent accusations intimate to each of us -- the same network of emotion we levy against the ones we both love and distrust.
I invite listeners to revel in the wonder that is Adrienne Pierce, the go-to girl for a...

Wears The Trouser/Spring in Brooklyn

It is a beautiful day in Brooklyn. Today I was able to catch up a little bit with my friend Tim Bright. He and I wrote Lost and Found and Laundry and Dishes in Brooklyn several years ago.

I play at the new Knitting Factory in Brooklyn tomorrow night with Ari Shine. We will each be doing a set of our music at 7pm and the show is free.

I have not sent my new CD out to press or radio yet and it will not officially be released until June. I have just sent it to the fans who have ordered it through my website. I did however send it to Wears The Trousers because they asked for it many months ago. They posted a review yesterday that I am rather pleased with. If you are interested I just posted it on the press page here.

I hope you are all enjoying...
